Phew! We really hit the ground running this year, completing six federal proposals with an aggregate potential value of approximately $250 million for our clients within the first month! Research shows more than 75% of New Year’s resolutions are given up by the end of January, but not at Meridian West! We are all a little mind-blown over here at Meridian West, about how fast this past year flew by. The last decade has brought some craziness, lots of laughs, curse words, big celebrations, late-nighters, but mostly, so much happiness! We can’t help but to be excited for what this year and decade hold for us, and it’s all thanks to YOU!

Others jumped on board just this past year, we are excited to have you along for the ride in this next decade. Either way, each of our clients has made this decade truly the best! Our most favorite part about the past decade was celebrating our client’s success’s! It has been amazing to see the progress, awards and the growth of our clients over time. In 2010, some of our clients, were just getting started in the federal arena, now they are thriving and being awarded multi-million-dollar sole-sourced work.
2020 is Looking Bright for the Construction Industry
After such a successful and exciting decade, it’s hard for us not to feel optimistic about what this new decade has in store, and we’re not the only ones! According to the Associated Builders and Contractors, construction contractors are ringing in the new year in confidence.
“The U.S. economy retains significant momentum entering 2020,” said ABC chief economist Anirban Basu. “Accordingly, the nonresidential construction outlook remains stable. The duration of the economic expansion—already record-shattering—has more room to run.”
Election Years Keeps Construction Contractors on Their Toes
“This year’s presidential election may cause some purchasers of construction services to adopt a wait-and-see attitude,” said Basu in the January 30, 2020 News Release.
While construction contractors are currently feeling positive in the U.S. economy, it’s difficult to determine if this will continue through the end of 2020. Often times, it has less to do with the actual government and more to do with construction contractors investing less time and funds bidding on anticipated work during an election year due to the unknown spending and regulatory habits of a potentially new presidency.
