Kathy is a Utah native originating from a small mining town in central Utah. Kathy keeps Meridian West organized with a methodical filing system, a plethora of office supplies and snacks, as well as a take-out menu collection that could be featured in the Guinness Book of World Records. When she is not hustling at Meridian West, she is busy performing grandma duties to her five grandchildren. From soccer games and swim lessons to shopping and volunteer work, Kathy is constantly on the move. A skilled designer/decorator, Kathy has lived in/flipped many homes over the years. Rivaling only the love of her grandchildren, Kathy has a soft spot for Santa Claus collectibles and has more than 200 in her possession.
Having joined Meridian West in 2007 as our part-time Office Manager/Executive Administrator, Kathy supports our team of Proposal Management consultants in many aspects. In fact, her organizational skills top the list. From hard copy content management to executing our proposal process, Kathy is willing to help others with anything for the company. She was asked when she joined on to “make the company employees happy to come to work”, and Kathy goes beyond doing that for the company.
Kathy’s main responsibility is managing and distributing daily federal opportunities (pre-solicitation notices and requests for proposals) to clients which ensures that upcoming contracting leads are tracked and marketed timely. This supports Meridian West’s ability to work in partnership with our clients to manage upcoming proposal work in the areas of Architectural, Engineering and Construction (AEC). In addition, her other responsibilities include managing the close-out procedures for proposals submittals, scheduling various meetings, managing luncheons, stocking the office supplies and kitchen necessities, filing and overseeing other critical office tasks.
Kathy is also very active with her friends and focuses great time and love to supporting the annual Christmas Fundraiser for Primary Children’s Medical Center—a wonderful children’s hospital with a special meaning to her. With a strong passion for years of support this fundraiser and the hospital, Kathy works year round to make holiday wreaths of all sizes and themes to donate and raise funds for the holiday. This holiday passion also extends to her home decorating as she is known for astounding festivities.
From working, donating her time and being a devote Grandma, Kathy doesn’t waste any time with spending time with her five grandchildren, 10 and under in age. They are truly her life. Kathy will never fail going in supporting the kids in their soccer games, wrestling matches, football games, piano recitals and all of their holiday and school functions.
With more than 30 years of business entrepreneurship and office management expertise, Kathy’s diverse work history encompasses owning multiple businesses, working as a licensed business broker assisting ones buying and selling of their business and supporting the office functions for a public firm that manufactured semi-conductor clean rooms. As a business owner, she built a DBE Woman-Owned Small Business from the ground up and worked with clients such as Kennecott Mine, Utah Trax and several Canadian companies. Throughout her life, she has also bought, lived in and/or flipped 15 homes further demonstrating her high work ethic and tenacious attitude.
Born and raise in a small mining town in the middle of Utah, Kathy knew the life of raising a garden, canning, deer hunting, bailing hay , raising cattle and living the small-town life on a farm. Raising her daughters, they loved the summer months either boating season in Lake Powell or cattle ranching in Scofield where she is part owner of a cattle ranch. Although the ranch requires some attention, it also brings great family memories, such as four-wheel riding, 4th of July BBQs and festivals, riding horses and enjoying the outdoors. Kathy continues these traditions with her family.
